Interview with Juthamas Vadhanapanich

Juthamas Vadhanapanich ("JV") interviewed on Saturday, 10 May.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?

JV : I hold a degree in Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Communication Design. Since 2003, I’ve gained extensive experience in designing software, platforms, mobile applications, and websites. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work both in Thailand and internationally, across a wide range of industries—from startups to publicly listed companies. This diverse experience has allowed me to adapt to different design challenges, user behaviors, and business contexts, while consistently applying user-centered design principles to create impactful digital experiences.

How did you become a designer?

JV : Since I was a child, I’ve always had a natural inclination toward design. I constantly noticed things that could be improved—whether it was a shop sign, a restaurant menu, or even the design of toys. I’ve always seen the world through a design lens and knew early on that I wanted to become a designer. That passion led me to pursue a degree in design at the undergraduate level, and I later continued my education in a design-focused master’s program. Becoming a designer wasn’t by chance—it was a path I intentionally chose and wholeheartedly followed.

What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?

JV : As a UX/UI designer, my process follows a structured approach: Research – Design – Test – Implement. My top priority is always to understand the users and the problem thoroughly through research. This allows me to create data-driven designs that are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-centered. By grounding the design in real user insights, I can ensure that every decision made serves a purpose and contributes to a better overall experience.
