About Changheon Lee

Changheon Lee is freelance designer of lch studio in South Korea. He graduate at the Architecture of Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA) of Beijing in China at 2014. he had diploma from CAFA and he worked IROJE Architects & Planners since from 2014 to 2016. He has a wide range of interests in Architecture. Furthermore as well as he has many interests all kind of Architecture include remodeling, lighting, furniture, art and so on. The focus of his work is life of human. His primary goal in work of finding and satisfy in shortages and deficiency in our lives. He get the main objective of finding from nature for work. Gains a lot of inspiration not only in the shape of the natural things, color, but also natural phenomenon, principle of nature, etc, obtained mainly in nature. Actively reflect on this design. He wishes that people's lives will be richer and healthier in his designs.

Interview with Changheon Lee

Changheon Lee ("CL") interviewed on Monday, 9 April.

Could you please tell us about your experience as a designer, artist, architect or creator?

CL : I majored in architecture and worked on designing for three years. Architectural design experience has given me a lot of curiosity and interest.

How did you become a designer?

CL : The reason why I came to design is because I am very interested in life and art. I wish my design would enrich people's lives.

What are your priorities, technique and style when designing?

CL : What I consider most important in designing is organizing my thoughts. The better you organize your thoughts, the better the design results will be. So I draw a lot of articles and pictures before I design.

Which emotions do you feel when designing?

CL : When I design, I get immersed in it.

What particular aspects of your background shaped you as a designer?

CL : I think my habit of learning about myself through writing and writing helped me grow into a designer.

What is your growth path? What are your future plans? What is your dream design project?

CL : My dream is to create a design studio that encompasses architecture, interior design, furniture, and visual design.

What are your advices to designers who are at the beginning of their career?

CL : Try to know yourself. This is a great help to design.

You are truly successful as a designer, what do you suggest to fellow designers, artists and architects?

CL : Try to know yourself!

What is your day to day look like?

CL : I do my personal work after work. It's hard but fun.

How do you keep up with latest design trends? To what extent do design trends matter?

CL : Design trends are important. But before that, I think it's more important to have a strong sense of direction.

How do you know if a product or project is well designed? How do you define good design?

CL : Design that gives people a good impression is a good design.

How do you decide if your design is ready?

CL : Before you design, you must have a good understanding of what you are designing for. If you understood it well, you are ready for it.

What is your biggest design work?

CL : My most valuable design tasks are a 'baan table' and a 'muul light'. It's my first work and it's been recognized through contests.

Who is your favourite designer?

CL : Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Cha Ungi

Would you tell us a bit about your lifestyle and culture?

CL : Music is an important factor in my design. The music I listen to at work has a great effect on me.

Would you tell us more about your work culture and business philosophy?

CL : Communication is very important to me. Communication with customers and with partners is critical.

What are your philanthropic contributions to society as a designer, artist and architect?

CL : It's the designer's job to help people's lives and society develop in a better way, and I think this is a benefit to society.

What positive experiences you had when you attend the A’ Design Award?

CL : It was my first competition, and it was the first time my design was recognized. It was a very valuable experience.
